You can use text, email or automated voice call as your recovery options. However, if you no longer have access to those options as well this step will not work. But if you don’t, you can do this:

Step 1- Click on the I don’t use these any more option and proceed to the next step.

Step 2- Hotmail also gives you the option of setting up a recovery code beforehand. This code can act as another form of verification for your account. If you have kept a code like this, then you can enter it here, if you don’t them click ‘no.’

Step 3- After clicking No the recovery process gets manual. You once again write your email to which you are trying to gain access to and another email. That email can now become a medium of verification for your current account.

Step 4- Now this page asks you to provide as much information about the account including your Name, Birthday, location or subject lines of any email you have sent recently.

The objective now is to provide as much information as possible to prove that you are the rightful account holder. Once you’re done click Submit.

Step 5- After sending the information, you have to wait for Microsoft to access the information you’ve given and seen if some information matches your account.

If you submit all the information you have, and it matches up to your account, then you will be sent a password reset link by Microsoft.
